The steam condenses through a series of tubes, and drips out virtually pure into a collection troph. When trying to figure out the best water filter for your home, it’s important to look at distillation as a process.

Unfortunately, this process has its drawbacks. It does create very pure water, but leaves out many of the naturally occurring minerals that are good for your body’s functions. Additionally, some sneaky chemicals may boil at the same temperature point of water, and sneak into the mix. Distillation can be expensive too, as heating water to boiling point can be energy-consuming.
